On 24 November 2026, the University of Pavia will host the Inaugural Day of the Master’s Degree in Economics and Data Analysis for Industry and Policy (MEDIP), marking the official opening of the programme’s first academic year.
The event will take place from 3:00 to 5:30 PM in the Sala Lettura, Campus San Felice, and will bring together representatives from academia, European and national institutions, and industry.
Following the welcome and opening remarks by Cinzia Di Novi, Coordinator of MEDIP, the programme will feature a keynote lecture by Emanuele Tarantino, Chief Competition Economist at DG Competition, European Commission.
The second part of the event, “From Evidence to Impact: Professional Perspectives,” will explore the importance of evidence-based approaches, economic reasoning and the ability to transform data into meaningful insights across different professional settings.
The discussion will feature Melisso Boschi, Economist and Senior Parliamentary Official at the Senate of the Republic of Italy and Head of the Economics and Finance Research Unit, and Federico Villa, Associate Vice President, Corporate Affairs & Patient Access at Lilly Italy Hub and Director General and Member of the Board of Directors of Fondazione Lilly.
Under the theme “From Data to Decisions: Economics for Industry and Policy,” the Inaugural Day will offer MEDIP students an opportunity to engage with different professional perspectives and reflect on how economics and data analysis can inform decision-making in academia, public institutions and industry.
